Southwest Home Access is a free matching service — not a contractor
Southwest Home Access connects Southern Utah and Mesquite, NV homeowners with local, licensed, insured contractors for aging-in-place home modifications: grab bars, walk-in and curbless showers, wheelchair ramps, stairlifts, widened doorways, and full accessibility remodels.
To be clear about what we are: we're a free referral service, not a construction company. We don't send crews or perform installation work ourselves. When you submit a request, it goes to a local contractor who has already been through our verification process, and they handle the work directly with you — with no obligation to hire anyone.
Why we started this
Roughly 80% of older adults say they'd rather stay in their current home than move into a facility, and Southern Utah — with one of the fastest-growing 65-and-older populations in the country — is exactly where that choice comes up every day. We built Southwest Home Access so finding the right contractor for a grab bar, a curbless shower, or a ramp doesn't come down to luck or a national call center reading from a script.
How we vet contractors
Before any contractor can appear on our verified contractors list or claim a homeowner request, they submit a Utah contractor license and proof of insurance, which we manually review and confirm. Nobody is approved to work with Southwest Home Access homeowners without going through that review first.
Many of the strongest aging-in-place contractors also hold a CAPS (Certified Aging-in-Place Specialist) credential from the National Association of Home Builders — a training program focused specifically on this kind of work. If that matters to you, it's a good question to ask any contractor who reaches out.
Where we serve
St. George, Washington City, Hurricane, Ivins, Santa Clara, and Cedar City, Utah, plus Mesquite, Nevada. Mesquite sits just across the state line from St. George along I-15, close enough that some of the same contractors serve both areas.
